I believe... in the power of collaboration… failure is an opportunity to learn… asking for help is not a weakness.
For My Team: I support my team, clear blockers, provide guidance and direction when needed, foster collaboration, and celebrate failures and wins. Specifically, I am committed to providing the necessary resources, mentorship, and a safe space for designers to ask for help and grow.
For My Organization: My goal is to create an excellent, dedicated team structured for success. I aim to provide time-saving design operations to maximize our work day, foster successful relationships to achieve the company's goals, and provide the best user experience for our customers. By working together, we can achieve greatness.
The Big Three
Family and Health come first - Take your sick (mental health) days and care for yourself or your family; just let me know if you need the time off. I have always worked with strong leaders who prioritize this, and I extend that to you. When attending to these issues, there are no expectations about your being on email or responding to work issues.
Work/Life Balance is a Priority—If you get your work done and attend meetings, I don't care when you work. I had a remote employee who felt her most productive creative time was 10 PM, and I said that was fine as long as she didn't work more than 40 hours a week. Additionally, I discourage sending out emails past core working hours. It always seems that one is working extra hours even though one is flex-timing it.
Use your vacation - Relax, refresh yourself, and share photos when you return. There is never a perfect time to take a vacation. Once you accept this notion, it becomes easier to take time off. The only thing I ask about vacation is that you give your project teams enough notice to plan effectively during your absence. Also, there are no expectations about you being on email or responding to work issues; you are on vacation.
